Kubernetes minor release · “Power to the Community”
With 51 enhancements, the first release of 2021 made CronJobs and immutable Secrets/ConfigMaps stable, turned dual-stack networking on by default, and deprecated PodSecurityPolicy ahead of its planned removal in 1.25.
End of life since 28 Jun 2022 (4.3 years ago). No more patches upstream.

The CronJob API, in beta since 1.8, graduates to stable.
A field can lock a Secret or ConfigMap against changes, protecting pods from bad config pushes and reducing API server watch load.
IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack moves to beta and is enabled by default, so pods, services and nodes can get both address families.
The kubelet detects an impending shutdown through systemd and gives running pods the chance to terminate cleanly.
EndpointSlice, sysctl support and PodDisruptionBudgets are listed among the features that graduated to stable.
